Top 5 Places to Discover Around Cappadocia

June 22, 2020by admin0 comments

Cappadocia is one of the most important tourism destinations of Turkey. It’s located in Nevşehir, Central Anatolia Region of Turkey and hosts thousands of tourists every year. If we say that nowhere in the world is so special, not so magical; If we say history and atmosphere with talismans, we know that it will still be insufficient to describe Cappadocia. If you are one of those who are looking for unique traces of civilization in a world where distances are decreasing, Cappadocia is among the first places to visit. Because wherever you go in the world, you will not be able to find a match like you, and you will not get lost in such a mystery. It is one of the most special places on earth with its underground cities, interesting fairy chimneys, rock hotels, impressive valleys and amazing activities from one another. We will mention about the best places to see around Cappadocia.

1- Uçhisar

Uçhisar, which is located at the highest point of Cappadocia, hosts the region’s most striking rock hotels and stylish restaurants. The town, where you will see the Cappadocia geography most beautifully, is a place preferred by tourist especially. Uçhisar Castle, where there was a settlement in the past, was evacuated when the security of the inhabitants was compromised. The best time to climb to the top of the approximately 160-meter rock piece that dominated Uçhisar is sunset. Uçhisar Castle has a location that allows panoramic views of all the places to see in Cappadocia region. From the summit of Uçhisar Castle, Kızılçukur, Ortahisar, Ürgüp, İbrahimpaşa, Mustafapaşa and Gomeda valleys and Göreme, Avanos, Çavuşin, Nevşehir, Çat and Erciyes can be seen.

2- Aşk Vadisi (Love Valley)

Aşk Vadisi is one of the most popular places to visit around Cappadocia. It is a 4900 meter long place starting from Örencik on Göreme-Uçhisar road and ending on Göreme-Avanos road. The valley, where the balloon tours surely depend on the weather conditions, is also quite suitable for walking among the places to visit in Cappadocia.

3- Çavuşin Village

Even though it is on Göreme – Avanos road and 2 km from Göreme, Çavuşin is a very old settlement connected to Avanos. The oldest building in the village is the Church of John the Baptist and Cavusin, dating to the 5th century. The boundaries of Kızılçukur and Güllüdere valleys also start from this village. We definitely see this village, which is built under a huge rock mass, its houses lying down the slope and the ruins of Christian dervishes.

4- Yılanlı Church (Yılanlı Kilise)

Yılanlı Church is a kind of historical church that is located in Cappadocia. Yılanlı Church, which ranks first among the churches that receive the most visitors in this region, attracts the attention of those who see it because of many religious motifs and frescoes. Like some historical buildings, there is a legend that this church got its name from. Visiting the place with knowledge of legends helps to better understand the motifs and increase their impressiveness.

5- Kaymaklı Underground City

Kaymaklı Underground City is 20 km away from Nevşehir. The entire area of the underground city, which is estimated to be 8 floors like other underground cities, cannot be visited, 4 floors up to 20 meters can be visited. B.C. In Kaymaklı, which was thought to have been carved by the Hittites in 3000 years, 5,000 people could live at the same time. The big bolt stones on the doors, the church and, of course, the life design under the ground are definitely our go-to recommendations.
